BW LPG Ltd: 10% Yielder Up 112% In 2026

BW LPG is a LPG marine shipping company with a strong balance sheet, and reliable ultra-high yield dividend.

Outlook For BW LPG Ltd Remains Solid

The S&P 500 is, at first blush, doing well in 2026, advancing 13.2%. But, because the index is weighted by market cap, the biggest stocks have the biggest impact on performance. And a few trillion-dollar companies can hide some cracks.

And they are. Nearly 40%, or 191 component stocks are in a bear market. On the dividend front, the S&P 500 average is hovering near record lows at 1.05%. Those are ugly numbers all around. (Source: “Nearly 40% of the S&P 500 is in a bear market,” Morningstar.com, October 16, 2026.)

This is why it’s sometimes a good idea to look outside of the obvious places and search for ultra-high dividend yielding stocks that are seriously outpacing the broader market. You can find that with BW LPG Ltd (NYSE:BWLP), a global leader in liquified petroleum gas (LPG) shipping company, on your radar.

As a quick refresher, LPG is a term that describes a family of light carbon gases, the two most popular are propane and butane. The LPG market is experiencing robust growth as the world looks for cleaner, more energy-efficient fuels. LPG, which is known for its low-carbon emissions, is used widely in residential heating, transportation, cooking, and numerous industrial applications.

The global LPG market is valued at approximately $126.8 billion to $131.0 billionand is projected to reach between $169.3 billion and $273.24 billion by 2033–2034, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 5.1% at the midpoint. Much of that demand is being energized by big imports from countries including China, India, and Japan. One of the biggest producers of LPG is the U.S. To export that LPG, countries need to rely on LPG marine shipping companies. One of the biggest and best, is BW LPG Ltd.

BW LPG is a world leader in LPG shipping, with an operating fleet of approximately 50 vessels, the majority are Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs). These vessels have a cargo capacity of roughly 70,000 to 93,000 cubic meters (cbm) of LPG. That’s enough to heat between 40,000 to 50,000 homes for an entire year. Q2 TCE Jumps 80%

For the second quarter of 2026, BW LPG reported robust daily time charter equivalent (TCE) income of $274.9 million, up 80% from $152.7 million in the same prior year period. For the first half of the year, TCE income was up 52% at $472.6 million. (Source: “Financial Results for Q2 2026,” BW LPG Ltd., August 28, 2026.)

Of that, shipping came in at $74,000 per available day and $71,600 per calendar day. The earnings also reflect the company’s robust TCE coverage of 53% of available days at $64,000 per day, and good exposure to the strong spot market.

Second quarter operating profit jumped 139% to $140.4 million while year to date operating profit ripped 161% higher to $360.0 million. Second quarter adjusted free cash flow climbed to $192.6 million; for the first half of the year it doubled to $346.7 million.

Profit attributable to equity holders of the company came in at $120.0 million, or $0.79 per share, up from $34.9 million in the second quarter of 2025. Year to date profit more than tripled to $284.4 million.

Looking ahead to the third quarter, at the time it reported its second quarter results, available fleet days were fixed at 92% at an average rate of $88,000 per day, including fixed time charter coverage of 41% at $44,300 per day.

Strong Dividend Distribution Of $0.95/Share

Returning capital to investors through its reliable dividend is a big part of BW LPG’s business plan. Since its IPO in 2013 it has paid out more than 76% of its earnings as dividends. In 2024 alone it paid out 123% of earnings. (Source: “Why invest in BW LPG,” BW LPG Ltd., last accessed October 21, 2026.)

The company declared a second quarter 2025 cash dividend of $0.95 per share, or $2.59 on an annual basis, for a forward dividend yield of 10.41%. That’s slightly less than the five-year average dividend yield of 13.04%.

Now, because its dividend is based on earnings, it will fluctuate. In the fourth quarter of 2025 it paid out $0.57 per share and it declared a dividend of $0.67 per share in the first quarter of 2026. BWLP Stock Up 112% in 2026

As noted above, BWLP dividend yield is slightly lower than the five year average. Because share price and yield have an inverse relationship, the so-called lower dividend yield is a result of strong stock market gains.

As of this October 21, writing, BWLP stock is up:

  • 21% over the last three months
  • 48% over the last six months
  • 112% year to date
  • 140% year over year
