Hafnia Ltd Stock Has 20%+ Upside Potential
The Democrats may have flipped Congress, but that doesn’t mean geopolitical tensions will suddenly subside. President Trump is still…President.
Wall Street tends to be optimistic following the midterm elections over the near term, but further out, who takes control of Washington doesn’t really have a big impact on the broader stock market.
There may be optimism that a cease fire in Iran will take place soon, but that doesn’t seem likely. On one hand, the U.S recently hit Iran’s Qesham Island, on the other President Trump has downplayed plans to strike Iran in any meaningful way.
And there is definitely no end in sight to the Russia/Ukraine war. Suffice it to say, tensions will remain in the Middle East. And that should help support prices for both Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate.
This will also result in higher costs for shipping. And that should continue to help energize the bottom line for marine shipping companies like Hafnia Ltd. (NYSE:HAFN).
Operating a fleet of more than 250 vessels, Singapore-based Hafnia Ltd is the largest operator of product and chemical tankers in the world. And its continually growing. (Source: “Why Invest In Hafnia,” Hafnia ltd., last accessed November 4, 2026.)
The majority of its vessels operate in the spot market, primarily through pools of similarly sized vessels, allowing Hafnia to maximize fleet utilization and revenues, and cyclical freight rate recoveries.
The company transports everything from clean and dirty, refined oil products, vegetable oil, and easy chemicals, to oil companies and chemical companies, as well as trading and utility companies.
If you’re not familiar with Hafnia, you’re not alone. Hafnia only began trading on the New York Stock Exchange since April 2024, but it began its journey on the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE) in November 2020.
Strongest Quarterly Results Since Q3 2022
For the second quarter ended June 30, Hafnia reported its strongest quarterly results since the third quarter of 2022. In the second quarter revenue came in at $505.7 million with net profit of $277.8 million. (Source: “Q2 2026 Investor Presentation,” Hafnia Ltd., August 28, 2026.)
Time Charter Equivalent (TCE) earnings were $372.9 million. This resulted in average TCE of $44,093 per day.
During the quarter Hafnia continued to execute on its fleet renewal strategy, completing the sale of one Long Range 1 vessel, two Medium Range (MR) vessels, and three Handy vessels. In the third quarter, it sold its 50% stake in two MR vessels within its joint venture, resulting in a $13.3 million profit for Hafnia.
Q2 Dividend Increases 240% to $0.507/Share
On the dividend front, Hafnia’s payout is based on earnings, so it will fluctuate. That said, shareholders have been on the receiving end of a generous dividend.
In the second quarter it announced a 90% payout ratio, resulting in a distribution of $250.0 million, or $0.5003 per share. This works out to an annual distribution of $1.11 per share, for a forward dividend yield of 10.68%. (Source: “Dividend History,” Hafnia Ltd., last accessed November 4, 2026.)
That payout is also up 240% from the $0.1470 it distributed in the same period last year.
HAFN Shares Crushing S&P 500
Dividend yield and share price have an inverse relationship, so it’s easy to find an ultra-high yield stock that is performing poorly. That isn’t the case with Hafnia.
Hafnia stock entered 2026 trading at $4.98 and in late October, it hit a new record high of $11.115. It has given up ground to profit taking and optimism from the U.S. midterms, and is currently trading at $9.77 per share. Even with the pullback, HAFN stock is still up:
- 37% over the last three months
- 104% year to date
- 83% on an annual basis
Wall Street thinks HANF stock will hit fresh highs over the coming quarters, with analyst’s providing a 12-month share price range of $11.50 to $12.00 per share. This points to potential upside of approximately 18.5% to 24%.
